Sahir Ludhianvi - My favorite Lyricist

I am a great fan of Sahir Ludhianvi. What a greate Lyricist. Sahir, like his name, was a "magician" of words. He wove fascinating images in songs and ghazals, spellbinding his listeners and readers for decades. For about thirty years, he remained associated with the Hindi film industry. He composed hundreds of songs for Hindi/Urdu films. Most of his songs became hugely popular and are even today sung and hummed by people of all generations. Sahir`s most remarkable contribution is that through his lyrics, he catapulted the standards of Hindi film songs to a level that became the benchmark for quality poetry. His lyrics have immortalized many songs in the memory of Hindi film lovers.

You can read and see one of his beautiful songs I liked most.

Tum apna ranj o Gham apni pareshaani mujhe de do.
Tumhe Gham ki qasam is dil ki viraani mujhe de do.
Ye maanaa main kisii qaabil nahi hun in nigaahon men.
Bura kyaa hai agar ye dukh ye hairaani mujhe de do.
Main dekhun to sahi duniyaa tumhen kaise sataatii hai.
Koi din ke liye apanii nigahbaani mujhe de do.
Vo dil jo maine manga tha magar Ghairon ne paayaa.
Bari kaif hai agar usaki pashemaani mujhe de do.

Memories Always Alive.

This photographs is taken on the wedding day of my parent at Kachwan, Mirzapur in June 1946. I got this photograph from my Mother's Album. It was almost damaged. I scanned and got it edited. In this photograph most of them are my close relatives. Many are no more. But memories are still alive of those who are in this photograph. I gave this photo to many persons. But one my Uncle, Late Mohd. Zaheer Khan, liked this photograph very much. He managed this photo in beautiful frame and hanged in his room. He used to remember every person emotionally while seeing this photograph.

Mrs. & Mr. (Late) Iqbal Ahmad Khan

This is my Parent's photograph taken at Electeric Studio, Aminbad, Lucknow. Old photographs help us to recollect our past days.

I remember the day when some students of a batch gave a farewell party to faculties and staff. I was surprised to receive a Ideal Teacher Award from a batch to whom I tought only one week while their faculty was absent.
